Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Toronto Tax Boutique Referral Program (“Program”). By participating, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Toronto Tax Boutique is referred to as “TTB”, “we”, “us”, or “our”.

1. Program Overview

The Program allows existing Toronto Tax Boutique clients to earn referral rewards of $10 each by referring clients to book TTB tax filing services for the current financial year using a unique referral link issued by TTB.

2. Definitions

  • Referrer – An existing TTB client who has been issued a unique referral link or code to share with others and who has paid the deposit for year 2026 tax filing.
  • Referee / Referred User – An individual who is not an existing Toronto Tax Boutique (TTB) client who has never filed taxes with TTB before and who uses a valid referral link or code to book tax filing services and successfully pays the required deposit to TTB.
  • Successful Referral – A referral in which the Referee:
    • Pays the deposit of $50 or $100 (in case of married/common law partner) for tax filing services for the current financial, and
    • Pays the remaining final balance for those services.
  • Reward – A reward of $10 that referrer gets on successful referral i.e. when his/her referee has made the deposit and has cleared the invoice to avail the tax filing service for the current financial year.
  • Client – Any individual who has paid the initial deposit and booked tax filing services provided by Toronto Tax Boutique in the current financial year, whether through a referral link or directly.

    A Client may be:

    • A Referrer (an existing client participating in the referral program), or
    • A Referred User (a new client who books services using a referral link)

For the purposes of this program, all Referrers and Referred Users are considered Clients once they engage TTB’s services. Further, married/common law partners are considered one referee.

3. Referral Reward Summary (Key Program Benefit)

By participating in the Toronto Tax Boutique Referral Program, eligible clients can earn $10 for every successful referral.

A successful referral happens when:

  1. Your referred person books TTB tax filing services using your unique referral link
  2. They pay the required deposit
  3. They complete their tax filing and pay the full remaining balance

How the Reward Works

  • The $10 reward is credited to your referral dashboard once your referred person pays their deposit
  • The reward remains locked while their tax filing is in progress
  • The reward becomes unlocked and withdrawable once they complete their service and final payment
  • The reward cannot be used to net off any client's invoice, it will be paid separately via e-transfers

There is no limit to how many people you can refer to. The more successful referrals you make, the more you earn.

4. Eligibility

4.1 Eligibility to Become a Referrer

To participate in the Program as a Referrer, you must:

  • Be an existing Toronto Tax Boutique (TTB) client for the current financial year
  • Have paid the required deposit for the current tax filing season
  • Have received an official and valid referral link or code issued directly by TTB
  • Participation in the Program is subject to verification. TTB reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to approve, reject, suspend, or revoke a Referrer’s participation at any time if eligibility criteria are not met or if misuse of the Program is suspected.
  • If you have engaged with TTB for any affiliations or Social Media Marketing, you are ineligible to participate in this referral program

4.2 Eligibility of Referred Users

A Referred User must:

  • Not be a client with TTB for any financial year
  • Use a valid referral link or code at the time of booking
  • Complete the required deposit payment to qualify as a referral under the Program

TTB reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all Referred Users and determine qualification at its sole discretion.

5. Referral Process

5.1 How to Refer

Eligible Referrers may participate in the Program by using their unique referral link or code issued by Toronto Tax Boutique (TTB).

Referrers may:

  • Access their personal dashboard through the unique link shared via TTB’s official communication channels (such as email or WhatsApp)
  • Share their referral link through WhatsApp, email, direct messaging, social media, copy-link features, or other available sharing methods

Tracking Requirement:
A referral will be considered valid and eligible for rewards of $10, only if the Referred User uses the Referrer’s unique referral link at the time of booking and completes the required deposit payment through that tracked session. Referrals made without using the correct referral link cannot be manually added or credited.

No Limit on Referrals:
Referrers may make multiple referrals. However, rewards will be granted only for referrals that meet all eligibility and payment conditions outlined in these Terms.

TTB is not responsible for lost, untracked, or incorrectly attributed referrals resulting from:

  • Referral links not being used properly
  • Browser privacy settings or ad blockers
  • Expired sessions or technical interruptions

How to Access Your Referral Dashboard

First-Time Setup (One-Time Process Only):

  1. Open the unique dashboard URL sent to you by Toronto Tax Boutique through our official communication channels.
  2. Enter your Interac e-Transfer email address — this is where you will receive your referral reward payouts.
  3. Click “Continue” and verify your entered email there itself.
  4. Once verified, you will gain access to your dashboard, where you can view your referral link, track referrals, and monitor rewards.
Important: These steps are required only during your first-time setup.
After Setup:
You will only need your dashboard URL to log in and access your referral dashboard going forward.

5.2 Referral Lifecycle

Stage Description
Initiated Referred User clicks referral link and starts booking
Deposit Paid Required deposit is successfully received
Balance Paid Remaining service balance is paid in full

Only referrals that reach the Balance Paid stage will result in an unlocked and withdrawable reward for the Referrer, subject to verification under these Terms.

See Section 7.1(c) for full reward unlock conditions and Section 8 for withdrawals

6. Deposits and Payments

6.1 Deposit Amounts

  • Individual Tax Filing: CAD $50 deposit
  • Couple Tax Filing: CAD $100 deposit

Definition of Filing Types

Individual Tax Filing: Applies to a single taxpayer filing their personal income tax return only. This option is for one person and does not include a spouse or partner’s tax return.

Couple Tax Filing: Applies when two individuals who are married file their tax returns together through Toronto Tax Boutique. While each person’s return is prepared separately as required by tax law, they are processed as a pair to optimize tax benefits and credits available to couples. Further, married/common law partners are considered one referee.

6.2 Deposit Payment Methods

TTB offers the following payment methods for deposits and remaining service balances:

a) Interac e-Transfer

  • No additional processing or convenience fee is charged by TTB for payments made via Interac e-Transfer
  • Payments must be sent to the official email address provided by TTB
  • The Referred User is responsible for ensuring the transfer is sent correctly
  • Services will only be confirmed once the e-Transfer has been successfully received and deposited by TTB
  • Any delays caused by incorrect recipient details, security questions, or bank processing times are not the responsibility of TTB

b) General Payment Conditions

  • Payments will be considered successful only after confirmation has been received from the relevant payment provider. Once payment is successfully completed, you will receive a payment confirmation message from TTB. The receipt of this confirmation serves as an acknowledgement that your booking for services has been secured.
  • TTB is not responsible for transaction failures, bank restrictions, expired cards, or technical errors from third-party payment systems
  • Any bank charges, foreign transaction fees, or currency conversion fees (if applicable) are the responsibility of the payer

6.4 Purpose of Deposit

6.4.1 Initial Deposit

The initial deposit of CAD $50 or CAD $100 (depending on the selected filing type), paid at the time of booking, serves the following purposes:

a) Securing Your Booking: The deposit confirms your intent to proceed with TTB’s tax filing services and reserves a place in our service schedule. Work allocation and onboarding may begin once the deposit is received.

b) Adjustment Toward Total Service Fee: The deposit is not an additional charge. Once received, it is deducted from the total fee for your selected tax filing service.

c) Client Commitment: Payment of the deposit indicates your commitment to proceed and to provide accurate documents and information required for completion of your tax filing.

d) Non-Completion After Work Begins: If a client chooses not to proceed, stops responding, or fails to provide required documentation after work has commenced, TTB reserves the right to retain the deposit to cover administrative efforts and preliminary work performed, subject to applicable laws.

6.3.2 Balance Payment

a) Final Fee Settlement: The remaining balance represents the total service fee minus the deposit already paid.

b) When Balance Is Due: The balance becomes payable once tax preparation is completed and before: filing of the tax return, or release of completed tax documents, whichever is applicable.

c) Completion of Service: TTB is not obligated to file returns or release finalized documents until the outstanding balance has been paid in full.

6.5 Deposit Refundability

Deposits paid for Toronto Tax Boutique tax filing services are generally refundable if a refund request is made within 24 hours of the deposit payment. After 24 hours from the time of payment, the deposit becomes non-refundable. This is because the deposit secures the client’s booking slot and allows Toronto Tax Boutique to allocate time, resources, and staffing to the client’s file. Refund requests made after the 24-hour window will not be eligible for a refund, regardless of whether the service has been completed.

7. Rewards

7.1 Earning Rewards on Successful referrals

a) Reward Credit Upon Deposit: A referral reward of $10 each will be recorded and reflected in the Referrer’s account once the Referred User’s required deposit payment has been successfully received and confirmed by TTB. At this stage, the reward will be visible in the Referrer’s account as “pending” or “locked” and will not yet be available for withdrawal or redemption.

This corresponds to the “Deposit Paid” stage described in Section 5.2 – Referral Lifecycle.

b) Locked Reward Status: Rewards remain in a locked state while the Referred User’s tax filing service is in progress. Locked rewards are not withdrawable, transferable, or redeemable under any circumstances during this period.

This aligns with the “Balance Paid” stage in Section 5.2 – Referral Lifecycle and enables withdrawal as described in Section 8.

c) Reward Unlock Condition: Rewards become unlocked and eligible for withdrawal only after the Referred User has: Paid their full remaining balance for tax filing services, and Not requested a cancellation or refund that would invalidate the service.

d) Final Validation: All rewards are subject to final verification by TTB. TTB reserves the right to review referral activity before approving rewards for withdrawal to ensure compliance with these Terms.

7.2 Situations Where No Reward Will Be Issued

A referral will not qualify for a reward, or an already credited reward may be canceled or reversed, in the following circumstances:

  • The Referred User cancels their booking or does not proceed with the service
  • The Referred User fails to complete payment of the remaining balance
  • The deposit payment is refunded, reversed, or disputed
  • The referral is identified as self-referral, duplicate, or involving an existing TTB client
  • The referral is determined to involve fraudulent, misleading, or abusive activity
  • The referral otherwise violates these Terms or any applicable law

In such cases, any associated pending or locked rewards will be removed from the Referrer’s account. If a reward has already been withdrawn for a referral later found to be invalid, TTB reserves the right to recover the amount from the Referrer.

If a referral does not meet the successful referral definition in Section 2, the associated reward will not be granted.

8. Withdrawals

8.1 Withdrawal Requests

Referrers may request withdrawal of unlocked and approved rewards at any time by submitting a withdrawal request through their client dashboard. Withdrawal requests apply only to rewards that have met all eligibility and verification requirements under these Terms. TTB may decline or hold a withdrawal request if the associated referrals are under review for compliance, fraud prevention, or payment verification.

Only unlocked rewards (see Section 7.1(c)) are eligible for withdrawal.

8.2 Processing Time

  • All withdrawals are processed manually by TTB’s finance team
  • The standard processing time is 5–7 business days from the date the withdrawal request is approved
  • Processing times may be extended during peak tax season, public holidays, or in cases requiring additional verification
  • TTB is not responsible for delays caused by banking systems or Interac processing timelines once payment has been issued

Referrers will be notified via email once their withdrawal has been processed.

8.3 Withdrawal Payment Method

Rewards will be paid via Interac e-Transfer to the email address registered on the Referrer’s TTB account.

It is the Referrer’s sole responsibility to ensure that:

  • The registered email address is accurate and kept up to date, and
  • Their bank account is properly set up and enabled to receive Interac e-Transfers.

If a transfer fails due to incorrect email details, inactive or disabled e-Transfer settings, expired banking links, or failure to accept the transfer within the required timeframe, TTB shall not be obligated to reissue the reward. TTB is not liable for funds sent to an email address provided by the Referrer that is incorrect, inaccessible, or controlled by another party. TTB does not offer cash, cheque, wire transfer, or alternative payout methods unless required by law.

9. Restrictions and Prohibited Activities

9.1 Prohibited Activities

To maintain fairness and integrity of the Program, the following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Self-Referrals: Referrers may not refer themselves using alternate email addresses, accounts, or identities
  • Referring Existing Clients: Referrals must be new clients only, who haven’t booked the service for any current financial year. Any person who has previously engaged TTB’s services, paid a deposit, or exists in TTB’s client records will not qualify
  • Referrer-to-Referrer Referrals: Individuals already registered as Referrers cannot be referred by another participant
  • Fake or Duplicate Accounts: Creating multiple identities, email addresses, or client profiles to generate rewards
  • Misrepresentation: Providing false information, impersonating another person, or misleading potential clients about TTB’s services
  • Program Manipulation: Attempting to exploit system errors, tracking loopholes, referral link manipulation, or unauthorized promotion methods
  • Spouse / Common Law Partner Referrals: A Referrer cannot earn referral rewards for referring their own spouse or common law partner, as married/common law partners are considered one referee under this Program.
  • Commercial Resale of Referrals: Selling or distributing referral links on coupon sites, discount platforms, or paid advertising channels without written consent from TTB

TTB reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether any activity constitutes abuse or violation of the Program.

9.2 Disqualification and Enforcement

If TTB determines that a participant has engaged in prohibited activity, TTB reserves the right to take one or more of the following actions without prior notice:

  • Void or reverse any referrals deemed suspicious, invalid, or fraudulent
  • Withhold, cancel, or adjust pending or unlocked rewards
  • Suspend or permanently remove a participant from the Program
  • Recover rewards already paid where fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms is discovered

TTB’s decisions regarding violations and enforcement shall be final and binding.

10. Program Changes and Termination

10.1 Modification of Terms

TTB reserves the right to modify, update, or revise these Terms at any time, including changes to reward structures, eligibility criteria, payment methods, withdrawal rules, and program processes. Updates may be communicated via email, WhatsApp message, website notice, or notification within the client's existing referral dashboard. Continued participation in the Program after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10.2 Program Suspension or Termination

TTB may suspend or terminate the Program, in whole or in part, at any time without prior notice. In the event of termination:

  • Legitimate unlocked rewards earned prior to termination will remain payable
  • Pending or locked rewards may be reviewed and may be canceled if eligibility requirements are not fully met
  • TTB shall not be liable for any loss of potential or future rewards due to Program termination

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TTB shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill
  • Technical failures, tracking errors, system outages, or website disruptions
  • Delays or failures caused by third-party service providers, including payment processors and banking institutions

TTB’s total cumulative liability arising out of or related to the Program shall not exceed the total referral rewards actually earned and payable to the Referrer.

12. Privacy

All personal information collected in connection with the Program will be handled in accordance with TTB’s Privacy Policy. Information may be collected, stored, and processed for purposes including: Administering and operating the Referral Program, verifying participant eligibility, preventing fraud, and communicating Program updates. TTB does not sell referral participant data to third parties.

13. General Conditions

  • The Program is void where prohibited or restricted by applicable law
  • Rewards are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash except through the official withdrawal process
  • Participation in the Program does not create any partnership, employment, or agency relationship between the Referrer and TTB
  • Any failure by TTB to enforce a provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision
  • If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect
  • TTB’s decisions regarding eligibility, referrals, and rewards are final and binding

14. Contact Information

For any questions, support requests, or disputes related to the Referral Program, participants may contact TTB at:

  • Email: info@torontotax.co
